I would deliver a key note/plenary speech about current challenges in global higher education focusing on emancipatory higher education and the role of criticality, seen as a staple of a narrow number of disciplines. I'll argue that it is not the question of education OR emancipation but the question of relationality approaches in education that universities need to consider. I would also comment on higher education links with the society, interdisciplinarity, and related social, economic and digital challenges (e.g. technological unemployment, digital surveillance and digital economy) and practical opportunities for educational action in the times of globalisation and internationalisation.
