Member (invited), Expert Panel, UK National Ecosystem Assessment Phase 2
In 2011 the UK National Ecosystem Assessment (NEA) delivered a wealth of information on the state, value (economic and social) and possible future of terrestrial, freshwater and marine ecosystems across the UK, but also identified a number of uncertainties. A two-year long follow-on phase, is being funded by Defra, the Welsh Government and three Research Councils (the Arts and Humanities Research Council, the Economic and Social Research Council and the Natural Environment Research Council).
Chaired by Professor Sir Bob Watson (Defra Chief Scientist), Professor Steve Albon (James Hutton Institute) and Professor Kerry Turner (University of East Anglia), the follow-on project will further develop and promote the arguments that the UK NEA put forward and make them applicable to decision and policy making at a range of organisational and spatial scales across the UK.
