Engaging in Development of EU Regulatory Criteria for Identification of Endocrine Disrupting Chemicals

We organised a group of researchers to suggest revisions to proposed regulatory criteria for identification of EDCs, based on findings from our collaborative research projects including the SYRINA manuscript and our "Challenges and Opportunities" paper. This was conducted via response to an initial public consultation then follow-up correspondence with EU Health Commissioner Vytenis Andriukaitis and the cabinet of Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker, as revisions developed. This resulted in specific provisions relating to the appropriate use of systematic review methods for identifying EDCs being incorporated in the final regulatory text, approved by EU Member States on 4 July 2017.
