The FIP 9.4: 13th International Conference Social Implications of Computers in Developing Countries held in Negombo, Sri Lanka brought together scholars from the field of ICT4D, STS and development studies. My presentation - "The Formalising Regime and its Formalising Technology: The Case of Informal Commerce in Recife" - reflected on the role of technology on the formalisation processes put in place by Recife City Council in relation to the informal commerce.
