Lancaster University, in collaboration with the University of Buea, is organising a strategic, two- day collaborative workshop bringing African and British academics, businesses, government and civil society sectors together to discuss how co-designed research in the broad area Global Health and Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) can achieve maximum impact and genuine, embedded change for the better across Africa.

The focus of the 2022 International Forum on Community engagement in Global Health and WASH is to discuss the how the outputs of research in the broad area of engaging communities in health and
WASH can be applied, disseminated, adapted and further developed in order to achieve maximum benefit. It will discuss some of barriers to change in this area as well as some of the opportunities that might arise from combining the results of multiple, related work to tackle key issues. We will discuss local, national and continental issues in the area of global health and WASH more broadly and how research can be applied in the right way to meet these challenges in the most effective way. Furthermore, we will co-develop research proposals that will enable us to seek funding that helps us collectively to realise some of the identified research opportunities.
