Activity: Participating in or organising an event typesParticipation in conference -Mixed Audience

10/10/2014

The day consisted of a debate, plenary speakers, and tips on writing for publication, which I had gathered from academic, and hospital colleagues. Students from other medical schools and staff from the local hospitals attended the day. Students from local 6th forms who had an interest in taking a medical degree at University were also invited to attend the conference, and participate in the poster competition on what autonomy and consent means to teenagers. The conference was reported in the local newspaper, raising the profile of LMS within the local and national community. A second conference is planned for next year to explore interprofessional ethics and students from DClinPsy, Social Work at Lancaster University and those taking allied profession degrees at Cumbria and Central Lancashire will be invited to participate and attend to facilitate interprofessional learning.
