Policy roundtable: women in multiple forms of low paid employment
Activity: Participating in or organising an event types › Participation in workshop, seminar, course
Glasgow-run, Nuffield funded roundtable to develop policy recommendations for women in multiple forms of low paid employment.
The research team did a large scale survey, interviews with 150 women and organised a policy workshop with experts and policy makers, one which I attended in March 2024.
The final report, which was launched in Scottish Parliament in June 2024, contains many recommendations that were shaped through the Work Foundation's involvement in the policy workshop, including a call for Government to provide flexibility on the job from day one, enforce worker’s rights, provide a contract that reflects the number of hours worked, and have a longer assessment framework for UC for those on non-standard contracts.
