The webinar is focused on building a network involving designers, strategists, scholars, practitioners, artists, and futurists from Latin America and Europe that valorize the particularities of various specific cultures of Speculative Design. Necessarily for such an enterprise, we adopt an open and inclusive stance toward the definition of speculative and futures practice carried out for design purposes, so that we might learn from their uniquenesses. Our objective now is to collectively explore the current state of Speculative Design thinking in these different contexts with the aim of developing a Special Interest Group (SIG) as part of the Design Research Society (www.designresearchsociety.org).
