The Great Music: An Interview with Composer Martin Romberg

Activity: Talk or presentation typesInvited talk

31/01/2025

Dr. Kwasu David Tembo is joined by Norwegian composer Martin Romberg to discuss the rich literary and musical work and legacy of J. R. R. Tolkien in his seminal cosmogony The Silmarillion. Not only are Martin's insightful and personal relationship with the text and the music helpful for Dr. Tembo's ENGL 336: Music and Lit students, the former's reading and playing offer enriched and nuanced ways to think of the intermediality between music, literature, and life in all its consonance and dissonance.
