UK Parliament - Green Alliance: Digital Inclusion and the Circular Economy

The UK has an e-waste problem, wasting phones, tablets and laptops that could easily be reused, whilst millions of people are digitally excluded because they don’t have access to the devices they need.

Our new report explores how targeted policies can help increase device redistribution, reducing e-waste and boosting digital inclusion.

Device redistribution schemes offer a promising solution, diverting reusable devices out of the waste stream and providing them to those in need. Unfortunately, they can currently only meet one fifth of the demand and policy support is essential to help them expand.

Join us as we launch this new report, alongside organisations involved in device redistribution and recipients of devices; to hear firsthand the power of device redistribution to change peoples’ lives and how new policy can enable the circular economy to end digital exclusion.

The event will include stalls showcasing the local organisations work, refreshments, and short speeches at 14:15. We are very grateful to Helen Hayes MP for sponsoring the event.
