John Welshman will be giving a paper 'Inside the Walls of the Hostel', at the Centre for the History of Science, Technology, and Medicine, University of Manchester, on 28 May 2009. The paper explores the changing role of the hostel in postwar health policy, both for people with mental health needs, and those with learning disabilities.
