Prof. Sugarman is associated with a research group that has won the right to bid as a preferred contractor for research funds from the EU Parliament’s Women’s Rights and Gender Equality (FEMM) Committee.

Description

Prof. David Sugarmanis member of a group of international scholars, led by Prof. Sylvia Walby (Sociology, Lancaster), that has won the right to bid as a preferred contractor for research funds from the EU Parliament’s Women’s Rights and Gender Equality (FEMM) Committee (notified 27 July 2011).  The group has subsequently successfully bid for specific European Parliament projects on:

1: Gender Quotas in Management Boards (Feb. 2012), which is posted on the European Parliament web-site: http://www.europarl.europa.eu/committees/fr/studies.html#studies.  

The Commission of the European Union  has subsequently issued a draft Directive on improving the gender  balance among non-executive directors of companies listed on stock      exchanges (September 2012) which reflects the recommendations of the Report on Gender Quotas on Management Boards

2: European Parliament Policy on Rape.  Report to be submitted in March 2013.
