Professor David Sugarman co-organised a public meeting commemorating the Bombing of Guernica and the International Brigades on Saturday 28th April 2012 at the People’s History Museum, Manchester.

The Museum showcased some of their memorabilia related to the Brigades for an event that attracted 150 people who listened to three speakers, Dr Richard Baxell (LSE), Professor Helen Graham (Royal Holloway) and Professor Paul Preston (LSE). The event was supported by the Arts and Humanities Research Council, the International Brigades Memorial Trust and the People’s Museum, and was co-organised with Professor Mercedes Maroto Camino (Lancaster University, History).
