Project on the cultural history of British pantomime receives AHRC funding

The Department of History is pleased to announce that Professor Jeffrey Richards and Professor Kate Newey (University of Birmingham) have secured AHRC funding (£381 000) for their project 'A Cultural History of British Pantomime, 1837-1901'. The project will start in October 2009, and run for 3 years. The grant includes financing of a doctoral studentship, to be supervised by Professor Newey in Birmingham, and a postdoctoral research associate who will be based in the Department of History and work with Professor Richards.
