Research overview

- Time series analysis

- Spatiotemporal and GPS tracking data

- Continuous-time stochastic processes

- Frequency-domain analysis

- Applications in oceanography, geoscience, management science and health data

PhD supervision

I am interested in supervising PhD students in the broad areas of time series and spatial statistics. Proposals are welcome in developing methodological and computational advances in space-time “big data” analysis, as well as the application of such methods in areas including oceanography, climate, public health, and finance.

My research interests are in data science and statistics, with a focus on real data problems that evolve in space and time. I have a particular interest in GPS signals, for example from instruments deployed in the ocean used to track ocean surface flow. More broadly I enjoy applying frequency-domain analysis to real-world large spatiotemporal datasets, and developing methodology for stochastic modelling, parameter estimation, simulation, and hypothesis testing.
