My PhD research has been concerned with the interpretation of literary production, particuarly manuscripts. Compositional Intertextuality sought to show how theories of intertextuality have always given credence to "process", despite the fact that they have often overlooked draft materials as such. The project was a response to recent (and not-so-recent) calls for a closer alignment of textual criticism and literary criticism. It offered readings of literary draft materials by Wordsworth, Shelley, Keats, and their respective collaborators. The project was supervised by Proffessor Sally Bushell.

My PhD research was funded by an AHRC NWCDTP +3 Full-Time Award. I was a recipient of the 2016 Everett Helm Visiting Scholarship, which enabled me to undertake a fellowship at the University of Indiana, Bloomington. And as part of PhD research, I was also awarded funds by the AHRC to undertake research at the Morgan Pierpoint Library, New York. In 2016 my essay ‘In the Archives with Lamb, Shelley and Disraeli’ came second in the Keats-Shelley Essay Prize. You can read it here in the Keats Shelley Review: https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.1080/09524142.2017.1297098I have a number of forthcoming publications, including one article for a special edition of The Wordsworth Circle, and one chapter for a Palgrave collection on Anticipatory Materialisms. After the summer, I plan to begin adapting my thesis for a first monograph.

For the last two academic years I have been teaching on Lancaster University’s ENGL100 (a first-year survey module). I also deliver lectures for the  ENGL207 ( a second-year module on Romanticism). I have acted as Academic Coordinator for the Summer Schools programme, run by the Global Experiences office at Lancaster. And I have also undertaken teaching duties at The University of Cumbria, where I lectured and co-ordinated their second and third year modules on Victorian Literature and Children's Literature. In addition to these teaching duties, I am employed as a Research Associate for Chronotopic Cartographies project.
