Research overview

Barry leads on developing relationships with existing partners and creating new ones across the research challenge areas of the LEC (Sustainable Catchments, Agri-Food, Eco-innovation). He provides the team with input and expertise on wider partnerships especially those with statutory agencies, councils, NGOs as well as business. Barry joined Lancaster from the National Farmers’ Union where he was Regional Land Use & Environment Adviser. Prior to the NFU Barry worked for Aberdeenshire, Rochdale, Bolton and Herefordshire Councils in strategic roles responsible for sustainable development, environmental policy, strategy, environmental management and climate change mitigation and adaptation. Barry has a MA in Philosophy & Ethics from MMU.
