Profile

Dr Casey Cross is a Principal Fellow of the HEA and is a Senior Teaching Fellow in the Department of Management Science within the Management School. 

Casey is the University Associate Academic Dean for Students and Principal of Bowland College.

Casey’s research interests focus on complexity and problem solving with a particular interest in the pedagogy of teaching Soft Systems Methodology (SSM) and the role of Systems approaches in curriculum development for both face to face and online teaching materials particularly curriculum design and development. A long standing character of Casey’s approach is the use of technology led initiatives in enabling effective learning. Casey has been a leading player in the use of e-pedagogy within Lancaster University.

She currently co-leads a new cross faculty teaching and learning initiative (Teach-Learn-Share) which aims to create opportunities and for sharing good practice about Teaching and Learning.

Research Interests

Research interests focus on the practice of problem solving and complexity in organisations.

In particular  the application of Soft Systems Methodology to problem situations. 

I also have research interests in the pedadogy of e-learning in Higher Education and Education 3.0.
