Chris leads on developing research funding applications with company partners and providing the team with intellectual property, contract and technology commercialisation support. He has also delivered short pieces of technical, intellectual property, funding and other support to over 100 companies across the North West and run a new venture creation programme after joining the team in 2004. Chris was previously the Biotechnology Exploitation Platform Executive for the University of Wales, Aberystwyth and the BBSRC Institute of Grassland and Environmental Research (IGER) for four years, specialising in the commercialising of new biological technologies. This followed an MBA from Lancaster University, 7 years with BNFL developing novel land remediation technology and a PhD in microbiology from the University of Kent.
