Research overview

My research focuses on the value of biodiversity to agricultural crop, particularly with regard to optimising pollination and pest control as insect-driven Ecosystem Services. I am currently investigating whether flowering field margin seed mixes can be prescribed to stack benefits for the organisms that provide these multiple services, without simultaneously providing resources to flower-feeding pests. This research should enable farmers to make better use of required on-farm conservation measures by allowing them to adopt agri-environment measures that benefit yields whilst meeting conservation targets.
