Research overview

I am an interdisciplinary researcher exploring how and why we should produce food differently, with a particular interest in crop production in urban and peri-urban environments. I recently completed a PhD in biological sciences at the Lancaster Environment Centre (LEC) during which I explored the potential and limitations of a commercial vertical farming system, designed for urban agriculture applications. Following my PhD studies, I remained at LEC to work on a research project that investigates photomorphogenic responses of plants imposed to ozone stress. I also took on a part time role as a research associate at the Centre for the Study of Environmental Change, to explore the potential of knowledge-exchange hubs in supporting community-driven food innovations.
