Research overview

I'm a PhD candidate at School of Computing and CommunicationsLancaster University, UK, under supervision of Dr. Utz Roedig. My PhD is funded by HMGCCI'm also a member of Security Lancaster.

My research interests include Information Security and Privacy, Wireless Communications and Wireless Sensor Networks. Currently, I’m interested in physical layer security in wireless communications. My recent work focuses on tamper detection using physical layer information of the wireless channel. I also work on wireless sensor node fingerprinting using hardware characteristics; improving performance of security protocols in wireless sensor networks; and modeling environmental properties to enable more dependable wireless sensor network applications. Additionally, I’m interested in interference detection in wireless communications. In the past, I worked on lifetime optimization in wireless sensor networks concerning digital signatures, sink and event unobservability, data processing and communication, and cooperation of neighbor sensor networks.

I received my BSc and MSc degrees from Department of Computer Engineering,TOBB University of Economics and Technology, Ankara, Turkey, in 2008 and 2011, respectively. I worked with Assoc. Prof. Bulent Tavli and Assoc. Prof. Kemal Bicakci during my BSc and MSc.

We are organizing a monthly reading group within Security Lancaster. Feel free to join and also recommend a paper.
