Research overview

My main academic interest is applying frameworks of critical discourse studies to social media data. My PhD research looks at argumentation and persuasion strategies in online anti-feminist forums.

I also co-convene the Language, Ideology and Power research group and work with Claire Nance on Athena Swan and Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) concerns

Digitally mediated politics and activism

Gender, online sexism, hate speech

Argumentation, persuasion, manipulation
