Honorary Professor
Dr Jim Scholes is Principal of the consultancy Leadership and Strategic Change LLP. He is a Visiting Professor of Management Science at Lancaster University Management School and has contributed to a range of programmes at several institutions including Rochester Institute of Technology New York; the Scandinavian International Management Institute, Copenhagen; and Aalto University in Helsinki.
Jim has worked as a consultant for over 25 years and together with long time collaborator Gary Hamel was a founder of the innovative consultancies CMI and Strategos. He is an experienced practitioner of strategy and systems thinking and has worked with leaders in public and private sector organisations in Europe the US and Asia. His clients have included Shell, Whirlpool, Nokia, Barilla, Beiersdorf, GM, Kemira, Kone, Fortis, Elisa, Reed Elsevier, Koç, Danone, TeliaSonera, NesteOil, Mars, Allied Domecq, IBM, Honda, National Semiconductor, Eastman Chemicals, Electronic Data Systems and Standard Chartered Bank.
Prior to his consulting and academic activities Jim worked in a variety of management roles in UK Government and the private sector. He has spoken at several international conferences and authored several articles on business strategy and systems thinking.
