Research overview

I am currently conducting research for a PhD in adaptive thermal comfort in non domestic buildings, working with industry partners Hardy and Ellis Inventions. I am interested in the drivers and barriers for adapting to lower energy environments, and the concept of energy literacy. I am also interested in bringing unheard voices into the design space for heating technology, and have been working with older women and changing thermal comfort needs through the work lifecycle.

From previous work in the charity sector, I am interested in social justice in energy markets, food and fuel sovereignty, and the links between food poverty and fuel poverty.

I am also currently working on driving forward gender equality in higher education (and beyond!) through my role as Athena Swan Programme Manager.
