My main research interests are in educational technology, corpus linguistics, and natural language processing. Much of my software is designed for use by researchers, teachers, and learners in vocabulay, discourse analysis, and corpus linguistics, including AntConc, AntWordProfiler, and various web-based tools. I also participate in joint projects with other researchers in science and engineering acting as a co-researcher, technical advisor, or technical writer. I also work with several Japanese companies in the development of commercial software applications and as a consultant on various aspects of technical writing and presentation.
