Research Interests

My research interests and activities are international in nature with a focus on risky consumption choices within the broad research domain of social marketing. I am particularly interested in the areas of attitudes, information processing, models of consumer motivation and persuasion, as well as an emphasis on examining consumer decision making processes in international settings. Most of my research is based on a consumer psychology perspective in the context of food choice, smoking and ethical consumption (including motivations for purchasing organic and free-range food). My current specific interests include nutrition labeling and understanding how to effectively communicate risk to consumers through product warnings and providing health information.
