Research overview

My research involves experiments using the highest intensity laser pulses in the world. By focusing down these laser pulses, extremely high energy densities are created so we can study ultra-high intensity laser plasma interactions. I have worked on a broad range of topics from laser-driven ion acceleration, neutron generation, laser channeling, laser propagation in the ultra-relativistic induced transparency regime, relativistic laser electron heating mechanisms, particle-in-cell-simulations, to laser-driven magnetic reconnection and advection of magnetic fields via hot electrons.
