Research overview

After working for some years in development, I am now a PhD student at Lancaster University. I have a master in Anthropology from SOAS and my main research interest lies in anthropology, development and, more recently, climate change. In my previous research, I dealt with the analysis of international projects devoted to 'street' children in Nairobi. I am currently looking at adaptation strategies in Sub-Saharan Africa, and especially in Tanzania where I conducted a nine months ethnographic fieldwork in the 'Ecovillage' of Chololo. I am particularly interested in the role played by 'improved' technologies in practices and discourses of climate change and development and how these are related to issues of fairness at different geographical scales.
