Research overview

The aim of my PhD is to understand the relationships between diatom carbon isotope values and ecosystem productivity and carbon cycling.

I hope to develop a tool for use in both contemporary biomonitoring and palaeoenvironmental investigations.

The mass spectrometer suppliers, Isoprime are CASE partners. Training provided by them has been crucial in the development of analytical methods.

My supervisors at Lancaster are Prof. Phil Barker and Dr. Peter Wynn.
