Mohamed Badawy is a PhD Candidate in Finance at Lancaster University Management School (LUMS). His research interests lie in empirical corporate finance with a focus on corporate governance and innovation. His other research interests include executive compensation and Mergers and Acquisitions. 

Mohamed holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Management from Mansoura University, Egypt (ranked First in class), and MSc in Finance (with Distinction) from the University of Strathclyde. Before joining the PhD programme at LUMS, he was doing non-degree studies at the Department of Mathematics and Actuarial Science at the American University in Cairo (AUC). 

Mohamed has an extensive teaching experience at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Before joining LUMS, he was an assistant lecturer at Mansoura University where he taught workshops for many finance and management modules. At LUMS, he is an associate lecturer where he taught AcF100 (Introduction to Accounting and Finance), AcF214 (Principles of Finance), AcF380 (Foundations of Banking), and the MSc module AcF533 (Principles of Financial Intermediation). He also served as a presentation marker for AcF351a (Career Skills in Accounting and Finance).
