Research Associate

Research overview

As an engineer with an MBA I began my career in 2009, first as a financial accountant in a BPO company and then as technical sales engineer in an oil marketing company in Pakistan. Subsequently, I availed a scholarship to study Chinese language in China in 2012.

I studied for PhD at Southeast University, China (2013-2016) following which I worked as a postdoctoral researcher in Shanghai Jiao Tong University, China (2017-2018), as a Research Fellow at University of Chichester Business School (2018-2019) and as a Research Associate at University of Lancaster (2019-Present).

Most of my research is interdisciplinary involving social, environmental, public health and economic issues. During the last 4 years I have worked on 3 international projects in Europe and Asia and received funding from the prestigious NSFC, China in 2018. During this period I have been able to publish 15 first author and 4 co-author articles in SCI journals. I have recently published a book chapter on barriers to female entrepreneurship in Pakistan.
