Research overview

The focus of my research is the psychology of mental distress, the recovery journey and increasing access to evidence based approaches to wellbeing.

I work with individuals with lived experience of mental health issues, relatives, significant others and service providers to ensure that the research reflects the social and cultural context and sense made of mental health experiences. Research interests include:

  • Understanding the influence of experiences of psychosis on personal and shared goals

  • Working with employers to support their employees with long term health conditions

  • Addressing core needs, including physical wellbeing, within services that support recovery
