Research overview

I initially trained and worked as a pharmacist in South Africa. Following which I studied health economics at the University of Cape Town in South Africa. I have a particular interest in the rigorous evaluation of public policy for diseases associated with poverty (with an emphasis on tuberculosis) in developing country contexts.

Previous projects that I have contributed to include evaluations of tuberculosis diagnostic guidelines in South Africa (XTEND and XPHACTOR).

I have supervised research degree students working on projects related to the costs incurred by patients and their social networks in accessing HIV care in South Africa and Tanzania.
