Thesis Title

Methodologies to Improve Site Selection of Dams and Water Harvesting Structures Using Remote Sensing Products.

Research overview

My research is the study of water harvesting, from small-scale in-situ techniques for plant/tree production to much larger structures such as dams. These water harvesting techniques rely on run-off and are mostly found in arid and semi-arid lands. Project study areas include locations in Ethiopia and Morocco. Remote sensing acquisitions are used to aid finding the most suitable locations for dams but the resolution and accuracy of the data provides limitations. My research focuses on methods to extract more meaningful information from remote sensing data products which in turn can be used to improve the site selection of a greater range of water harvesting structures.
