Bob Rothschild is Professor of Economics. A graduate of the University of Cape Town, and former Research Student at Emmanuel College, Cambridge, he has worked in industry in both the UK and Germany. He has held visiting posts at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, USA, at the Australian Graduate School of Management in Sydney, Australia, Curtin Business School in Perth, Australia, and at the Northwest Polytechnical University in Xian, China. He has also spent a period on research leave at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada. His principal research area is in industrial organization analysis, with particular reference to cartel behaviour and competition in product-differentiated markets. On these and related topics he has published widely, in journals such as the American Economic Review, the European Economic Review, Economics Letters, Manchester School, Scottish Journal of Political Economy, Journal of Institutional and Theoretical Economics, European Journal of Political Economy, Bulletin of Economic Research, Economic Inquiry, the Journal of Industrial Economics, the International Journal of Industrial Organization, Southern Economic Journal, Australian Economic Papers, Regional Science and Urban Economics and the Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization.
