Profile

I graduated from Newcastle University in 2016 after completing an MMath in Mathematics and Statistics. Throughout my undergraduate degree, I was interested in applied maths modules which had real life applications. In summer 2015 I completed the STOR-i internship and saw how statistics can be applied to the real world, and this led me to join STOR-i full time after graduating.

My PhD focuses on estimating diffusivity in the ocean. This is a parameterisation of the residual once other parameters have been removed, such as mean flow, strain and vorticity. I am supervised by Adam Sykulski at Lancaster University and Jeffrey Early and Pascale Lelong at NorthWest Research Associates in Seattle.
