Susanne Langer

Research Interests

Susanne is a social anthropologist and works on the evaluation of the Aiming High for Disabled Children Short Breaks Pathfinder Programme. She has been leading the project's qualitative research component, together with Michelle Collins. Her research interests are in the areas of welfare and well-being, chronic illness and disability, personhood, technologies, and qualitative research methods. Before coming to Lancaster, Susanne worked on the CRESC-affiliated study Women in North-West Shared Services and at QUALITI, the Cardiff University Node of the ESCR National Centre for Research Methods.

After March 2010, Susanne will join the CHOICE research programme investigating the use of out-of hours and emergency care by people with chronic conditions.
