Research overview

My research involves hydrological monitoring and investigation of physiochemical responses to biodiversity and land-use change in streams in upland Wales. This is one component of the NERC Diversity of Upland Rivers for Ecosystem Service Sustainability (DURESS) project (http://nerc-duress.org/), which is assessing how biodiversity helps deliver ecosystem services, such as regulating water quality and decomposition.

Other research interests include investigating long-term forest dynamics in Amazonia, and using palaeolimnological approaches to reconstruct Late Pleistocene and Holocene climate change in the eastern Mediterranean.
