As part of the Mathematical Physics Group, my main area of research has been in classical and quantum electrodynamics, and its application to accelerator science. In particular, my work has focused on the interaction of electromagnetic fields with matter, which has relevance to laser plasma acceleration.
The natural mathematical language to explore such phenomena on spacetime is exterior differential geometry, which our group heavily exploits to elucidate these and a wider array of problems in relativistic and Newtonian spacetime physics.
