Research Interests

My research interests lie in the integration of the natural and social sciences for the sustainable management of natural resources. To date, my work has focused on the ecology, economics and management of wildlife resources.

After completing a PhD on the conservation impact and management of wild deer in the East of England at the University of York, I held a post-doctoral Research Assistant position on a RELU funded interdisciplinary project on collaborative frameworks in land management using deer as a case study.

During this time I developed an interest in stakeholder participation for environmental management decisions and developing methods that integrate quantitative and qualitative data for this purpose.

I joined LEC in December 2009 as a Senior Research Associate on a RELU funded project on developing integrated strategies of containment for animal disease with specific reference to Foot-and-Mouth, Cryptosporidium and Avian Influenza.
