Project: Non-funded ProjectProjects

31/01/11 → …

This project concerns recent films in which crashes have featured not just as plot devices but also as linguistic motifs which help to structure and inform these films. The project covers both aesthetics and symbolic meaning. It has already produced two articles (one on Abre los ojos (1997) and the other on Amores perros (2000)). Further work will involve a book proposal, include treatment of a number of the following films: Falling Down (1993), Crash (1996), Los amantes del círculo polar (1998), Todo sobre mi madre (1999), Amores perros (2000), Mulholland Drive (2001), Vanilla Sky (2001), Changing Lanes (2002), 21 Grams (2003), Crash (2004), A Single Man (2009), La mujer sin cabeza (2010).
