Tasks and assessing L2 listening comprehension

Project: Non-funded ProjectResearch

1/08/0931/01/10

In this funded research project, we investigated the relationships between text characteristics of task input, task difficulty, and test takers' perceptions of difficulty in L2 listening assessment. In particular, we examined how linguistic complexity, speech rate, and explicitness affect the difficulty of L2 listening comprehension tasks. By the means of introspective methods, we also tapped into the thought processes of participants in relation to these variables.
