Abstract

Fluoride is a potent inhibitor of both reactions of ribulose-P2 carboxylase/oxygenase. Inhibition is almost totally competitive with respect to CO2, but uncompetitive with respect to ribulose-P2 Inhibition of photosynthesis after exposure to HF may result from the inhibition of ribulose-P2 carboxylase by F- accumulated in the leaves.
