Bibliographic note

Tramp in Flames is a collection of poetry that explores some of Farley's best-known themes and concerns: namely, memory, place and landscape (urban and rural), identity and class. The collection 'consolidates and extends' the technical range of the earlier work (Poetry Book Society Bulletin, Autumn 2006) and attempts a greater formal rigour and engagement. As with Farley's earlier poetry collections (this is his third), the book proceeds as a sequence of lyrics, while individual poems act as confluences of reading, memory and experience. Many of the poems comprising this collection have been published in the Times Literary Supplement, the London Review of Books, and international journals such as The Yellow Nib. Tramp in Flames has been Recommended by the Poetry Book Society, and was shortlisted for the Forward Poetry Prize for Best Collection published in 2006, the T.S Eliot Prize, and the Griffin International Poetry Prize.
