This published email exchange with Artur Pełka (Lodz), which was conducted as part of a working group of the project "Postdramatik?" organised by the Forschungsplattform Elfriede Jelinek (http://fpjelinek.univie.ac.at/forschungsarbeiten/projekt-postdramatik-201314/) debates the viability of the term "post-drama" for texts such as those by Elfriede Jelinek. The discussion also touches on the delineation of drama and postdramatic theatre; the perceived establishment of postdramatic theatre as a 'hegemonic aesthetic yardstick' vs its introduction of new perceptions; the reception of Lehmann's Postdramatic Theatre in Britain, Germany and Poland; and the importance of experimental texts as a stimulus for postdramatic forms of theatre.
