Abstract

A miniature helium isotopic concentration cryostat is described. By means of this device, the 3He/4He ratio of a given sample of helium gas can be increased by a measurable factor of up to ca 400, thereby enhancing by the same factor the ultimate sensitivity of 3He/4He ratio determination by mass spectrometry.
