Abstract

Accurate phase control is demonstrated for an injection locked CW `cooker' magnetron in the presence of significant disturbing influences to its natural frequency (i.e. temperature, load and supply voltage fluctuations). This was achieved by driving the magnetron as a current controlled oscillator and at the same time controlling the phase of the injection signal by fast feedback. The control algorithm is implemented by a digital signal processing ic to allow some element of feedforward control.
