Abstract

The synthesis and characterisation of head to tail regioregular poly(3-pentoxythiophene), poly(3-cyclohexylthiophene) and three mixed alkoxy/cyclohexyl. 3-substituted thiophene copolymers with a head to tail arrangement of adjacent rings is presented together with a comparative study of their photoluminescent properties. Photoluminescence studies in solution suggest a progressive decrease of luminescence with an increase in pentoxy/cyclohexyl ratio in the polymers produced.
