N2 - Numerous protocols have emerged for service discovery in mobile ad hoc environments, and they differ significantly in terms of service description languages, interaction patterns, message type and structure, directory architectures, and so on. So, middleware is required to support the discovery of services advertised on multiple platforms and achieve interoperability between heterogeneous discovery protocols. This article presents a component framework approach for developing a configurable and dynamically reconfigurable multipersonality discovery middleware.
